After a 2024 edition that was magnificently received with the theme "In Search of the Spirit of Al-Andalus", Fez and its thousand-year-old medina are preparing to host the twenty-eighth edition from Friday May 16 to 24 with the theme "RENAISSANCES".

This theme could not be more in tune with the spirit of our country which, year after year, positions itself as a space of cultural, spiritual and artistic renewal thanks to the will of His Majesty the King, may God assist Him. A theme that also reflects the spirit of the festival which, 28 years after its creation, continues to perpetuate the values ​​of cohabitation and tolerance specific to the city of Fez, a high place of cultural influence, an open city, a crossroads of civilizations, which is constantly renewing itself. Since its foundation, Fez has played a pivotal role in cultural and religious renewal movements, significantly influencing exchanges between Mediterranean and African civilizations.

This edition will also pay tribute to Africa, a continent whose youth ensures the preservation and celebration of its age-old traditions, the transmission of its heritage for future generations, thus contributing to its cultural renaissance. This tribute thus strengthens the anchoring of the festival and Morocco to its African roots and is in line with Morocco's commitments to South-South cooperation in accordance with the royal vision.

Finally, "Renaissances" does not fail to refer to Italy, the country in the spotlight during this edition. A reference that will be celebrated in connection with the city of Florence, which has a unique twinning throughout the world, that of Fez; two cities that symbolize this bridge between cultures and eras.

Thanks to the support and assistance of the various partners and institutional actors to whom I extend my warmest thanks, the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music has become, over the years, an unmissable cultural event with a recognized international influence. It is now ranked the world's leading festival in the field of sacred music.

During 9 days, nearly 200 artists from more than 15 countries will offer exceptional shows. Artistic troupes classified as part of the world heritage, the Deba of Mayotte-Comoros Islands, the Sufi ensemble Al Areej of the Sultanate of Oman, Mouride and Sufi poetry of Senegal, the Art of the Harp of Ghana, the Zaouli Manfla of Ivory Coast, the master drummers of Burundi , The Andalusian Night ….
