This visually and sensorially intelligent proposal—both profound and ethereal—expresses the coexistence of two women interacting on stage, inspired by the myth of the double. The confrontation of our identity’s duality, of a certain splitting, is narrated in Romantic literature, cinema, philosophy, and is simply rooted in the origins of humanity.
The twin sisters Florencia Oz and Isidora O’Ryan immerse themselves in a minimalist and contemporary aesthetic that seeks harmony, the elegance of symmetry and balance, to tell the journey: from the moment they were one to the tipping point where one ceased to be the other to become herself.
Dance, flamenco, percussion, and the visual poetry of one condition the voice, instrument, melody, and sung poetry of the other. Perhaps one was born during the transatlantic voyage, from flamenco dance, while the other emerged from the cello, from avant-garde and scholarly composition.”
