The 4Femmes project evokes the decline in the condition of women. The writer and filmmaker Atiq Rahimi has written four stories, based on women’s testimonies; a kind of Medea monologue, filled with compassion for those who have to face poverty and violence, a Medea who escapes her destiny and refuses to be a bargaining chip. 4Femmes, faced with tragic news in the Middle East, express their suffering and hopes on stage. Inspired by the meeting with the women of the choir of the Asian University for Women in Bangladesh – a university that welcomes women from all over Asia free of charge – this initiative perfectly embodies Ariana Vafadari’s approach, which seeks to create, through music, bridges between eras, spiritualities and individuals. Ariana Vafadari, through her singing, creates a real awakening. Trained at the Paris Conservatory, she brings together her oriental heritage and her passion for classical music. A mezzo soprano with a deep timbre but also a composer, she invents sound epics between traditional, classical, jazz or electronic music, where Zoroastrian wisdom poetically illuminates our contemporary questions.
