He is widely known as a master singer and guitarist and possesses a remarkable range of traditional-ethnic styles, as well as traditions from all over the world. Beside regularly discovering and preserving songs, tales, and melodies of Europe, the Middle-East, South America and ancient Persia, he undertakes to interpret them, collaborating with virtuoso and highly acclaimed musicians.
The uniqueness of his style lies in the authenticity with which musics overlap, compare and often borrow from each other. Gerard is one of the greatest world specialists of the sepharade diaspora music. As such, he has been awarded the prize of the sepharade music heritage, as well as an award for being composer of his original songs.
